Several thousand people have taken part in a march and rally in Belfast in support of same-sex marriage.

Amnesty International, which organised the rally, has estimated a turnout of 20,000 people.

The Irish Congress of Trades Unions also assisted in preparations for the rally, which ended at Belfast City Hall.

Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK where civil marriage is prohibited for gay couples.
