A man in his 60s has died in a road crash near Mountmellick, Co Laois this afternoon.
The two-car collision occurred at around 12.30pm in the townland of Clonaghadoo.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
A woman in her 20s, who was driving the second car, was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
Her injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
