Taoiseach Enda Kenny and former taoiseach Bertie Ahern are to be called to the banking inquiry.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Banking Committee today.
Former International Monetary Fund executive Ajai Chopra has also confirmed his appearance.
The inquiry signed-off on its final list of witnesses today, most of whom will give evidence in July.
The list also includes bankers from Anglo Irish Bank, Irish Nationwide and Permanent TSB.
The Taoiseach has been called to take part in the module examining the role of the Oireachtas during the crisis and he will be questioned mostly about his time as opposition leader.
He will attend one session along with Fine Gael's then finance spokesperson Richard Bruton.
Labour's Pat Rabbitte and Tánaiste Joan Burton have also been called as well as former Progressive Democrats leader Mary Harney and Green Party leader John Gormley.
Mr Ahern will be questioned about his time as taoiseach.
Around ten bankers from Anglo have been called including Seán FitzPatrick, David Drumm, Mike Aynsley and Alan Dukes.
Permanent TSB's Dennis Casey and Gillian Bowler have been called while Irish Nationwide's Michael Fingleton and Michael Walsh are also on the list.
The inquiry has powers of compellability but so far, all witnesses have agreed to attend without those powers being enforced.
Mr Chopra has agreed to attend the inquiry at Leinster House, likely in September.
There remains some issues around a confidentiality clause he signed when leaving the IMF.
