The head of the Irish League of Credit Unions Martin Sisk has said some members seeking to borrow small amounts are turning to money lenders over red tape.

Members seeking small loans have said that they are resorting to money lenders as it is easier than dealing with red tape and too much paper work.

Mr Sisk told the league's annual general meeting in Killarney there should be more flexibility for credit unions to make small loans.
