An anti-water charge protester has suffered minor injuries following an incident at a demonstration at Fingal County Council in Co Dublin.

The woman was one of a number of protesters who sat in a revolving door at the offices, having earlier broken through a gardaí cordon outside the building.

A pane of glass in the door shattered as gardaí tried to remove the demonstraters, which led to cuts on the protester's forehead.

Videos posted online captured the moment that the glass was broken, as well as the injuries suffered by the woman as a result.

Garda sources said the protester was treated at the scene, after which she rejoined the protest.

Fingal County Council have said that the incident is under investigation by gardaí and the council will not be commenting on the matter while this inquiry is ongoing.
