With less than 24 hours to go before the deadline for claiming a €3 million Lotto prize, there is still no indication who or where the winner is.
Under National Lottery rules, there is a 90 day limit for collecting prize money.
The owner of a €3 quick pick sold in Claremorris, Co Mayo last November has until 5.30pm tomorrow evening to present the ticket - after that time, it will be worthless.
The winning numbers from the draw on Saturday 29 November were: 7, 8, 18, 28, 35 and 39.
Extensive efforts to locate the winner have so far been fruitless.
Locals in Claremorris believe the ticket may have been purchased by a visitor to the town.
A large number of people were attending a dancing event in a local hotel on the weekend in question.
Country singer Mike Denver, who was headlining the concerts, says he thinks one of his fans may have bought the ticket and forgot to check if their luck was in.
The popular singer draws a large crowd to his gigs and says there were people from all over Ireland and Britain at the dancing weekend last November.
He believes that Lotto tickets would have been the last thing on the minds of people who had enjoyed a night of music after the six winning numbers were drawn.
Today he appealed to fans to check their wallets and handbags to see if they had the winning ticket.
Since the Lotto began, some €10.5 million of prize money has gone unclaimed.
It is 12 years since a jackpot has not been collected and if the Mayo winnings remain with the National Lottery, it will be the second biggest prize fund that has not gone to the ticket holder.
In June 2001, a jackpot of €3,445,223 - won on a ticket bought in Coolock in Dublin - was also unclaimed.
