A total of 450 new jobs have been promised at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in Dublin, with some of the roles full-time and some part-time.
A further 225 jobs will be generated in the construction of a €26m extension.
The new facility will include a new Penneys store, six restaurants, an upgrade to the cinema and a new civic space.
The new jobs will bring the total number of people employed at the shopping centre to over 2,500.
The cinema upgrade is expected to open this autumn, while the new Penneys is due to open in late 2016.
Planning permission for the development was given in 2013.
Centre Director Denis O'Connell said it marked an exciting new phase for Liffey Valley.
He added: "Now in our 17th year of trading, Liffey Valley boasts full occupancy with 100 tenants including anchor brands Marks & Spencer, Next, Dunnes Stores and Boots."
Hines Ireland and its partners HSBC Alternative Investments Limited (HAIL) and Grosvenor Britain & Ireland made the announcement.
