About 6,000 customers are currently without electricity due to bad weather conditions, including some lightning in the west, north-west and south-west.
The worst affected area is the south and south-west.
About 2,000 customers in the Tralee area are without power, about 1,300 in the Sneem/Killarney area, and about 750 in Limerick.
There are small pockets in other areas including Clonmel, Waterford, Castlebar and Tuam.
There are reports of high winds in Counties Kerry and Limerick. Cold and wintry conditions are also reported in Ennis Co Clare.
In Co Longford, there are reports of a number of trees down on back roads in the Longford town area, and county council emergency crews have been dealing with these.
In Westmeath, drivers are being urged to drive with caution due to reports of debris on the Athlone to Mullingar road via Ballymore.
There are also reports of debris on roads around Moate, and on the N6 Galway-Dublin road eastbound at J9 Garrycastle.
In Co Roscommon, there are reports of a number of trees down, including outside Boyle near the Four Provinces pub, and on the road between Ballinameen and Carrick-on-Shannon.
Gardaí and Emergency services have been dealing with these.
Heavy rain is reported in Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim.
In Co Tipperary there were reports earlier this evening of debris on the Templemore to Roscommon N62 road.
In Co Wicklow ESB crews were working to repair a line which had come down in the Glenealy area.
A spokesperson for Eircom said there were no reports of any significant disruption to services due to the bad weather.
The Road Safety Authority has advised motorists to drive with care in the poor weather conditions and to watch for debris on the roads.
High-sided vehicles and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to strong winds.
