Dublin Fire Brigade is warning of the dangers of leaving electronic devices plugged in unnecessarily after a fire in a house in west Dublin this morning.

The bedroom of the house in Castleknock was badly damaged by the blaze.

It is believed to have been started by a phone charger that had been left on a bed.

Three units of Dublin Fire Brigade dealt with the fire.

None of the occupants of the house were injured, but the fire brigade said the incident demonstrated the dangers of leaving any devices plugged in for long periods and near textiles.
