A new campaign has been launched to combat the problem of livestock theft across Ireland.
Gardaí, the Irish Farmers' Association and Crimestoppers have come together to appeal for information.
Figures show 319 stolen animals were reported in 2013 and 159 in 2014. So far this year 35 animals have been stolen.
A €10,000 reward is now being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and charge.
Assistant Commissioner Derek Byrne said it is a national issue and one that is of concern.
He said gardaí are working very closely with the Department of Agriculture, the Revenue Commissioners and the Food Safety Authority.
IFA president Eddie Downey said he hoped the €10,000 reward would lead to information.
In one incident during 2014, one farmer had 17 of his 18 calves stolen by thieves, causing significant financial loss.
