Gardaí were on duty at the entrance to the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland in Clonskeagh in Dublin this afternoon as two opposing protests took place.
Fewer than a dozen people attended an ‘Anti-Islam Ireland’ protest at 2pm, but between 70 and 90 anti-racism demonstrators turned up to oppose them.
There were some tensions when a poster unfurled by 'Anti-Islam Ireland' was torn up.
No arrests were made.
Shortly after this the anti-Islam protesters left, having asked gardaí to accompany them from the area.
