Road users are being advised to exercise caution with wintry conditions persisting around much of the country.
There were heavy snow falls in Cavan and Monaghan this morning, with some roads impassable.
Several centimetres of snow were recorded there and 4,000 ESB customers were without power for a time.
Snow has also been falling in Ulster, Connacht and Leinster.
In Co Wicklow, all approaches to the Sally Gap are closed due to treacherous conditions, while gardaí are advising motorists to also avoid the Wicklow Gap.
Elsewhere in the county, conditions are also very poor on the Glenmalure - Aughavannagh road and the Roundwood - Glendalough road.
Traffic in Dublin was slow affected this evening, with many journeys taking significantly longer than usual.
Met Éireann expects more snow tonight, but it does not expect significant accumulations.
A Status Orange wind warning is in place for Donegal, Galway Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare, with northwest wind speeds of 65-75km/h in coastal area and gusts of 90-110km/h this evening and tonight.
A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Roscommon until roughly 4am with wind speeds of 50-65km/h and gusts of up to 110km/h

It is due to get colder again tomorrow and Saturday with strong northerly winds.
Further snow showers are expected over the weekend, mainly in Connacht and Ulster.
Meanwhile, Ryanair has said that the closure of the runway at Manchester Airport today because of snow has disrupted its flights between Manchester and Dublin and Shannon.
The runway has reopened, but passengers are being warned to expect delays.

Intermittent snow and sleet showers are continuing to affect parts of Northern Ireland.
A number of bus services were cancelled and some schools, mainly in rural areas, were forced to close for the day.
The Met Office has downgraded a weather warning from amber to yellow for the period up to 11am tomorrow.
