The Revenue Commissioners has said it had more than 25,000 calls to the Local Property Tax Helpline by 5.30pm today.

It comes ahead of Wednesday's deadline for single payment notifications.

It said it had dealt with almost 14,000 today.

Revenue said there were 7,000 credit card payments over the last 24 hours up to lunchtime.
