UTV Ireland began broadcasting this evening from its base in Dublin.
The station went live at 7.25pm and will show some programmes previously screened by TV3, including Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
UTV Ireland has employed over 100 people at its headquarters in the Docklands area of the capital.
