Seán Quinn, once Ireland's richest man and boss of the Quinn Group, has returned to his former headquarters at Derrylin in Co Fermanagh to cheers from staff.

The headquarters, which is located just across the border from his home in Ballyconnell, had been formally taken over by the Quinn Business Retention Company or QBRC.

Senior staff removed the Aventas sign that had been placed on the building following the previous takeover of the Quinn Group and an attempt was made to set it on fire.

A short time later, Mr Quinn entered what was once his headquarters, where he was greeted by cheering and clapping from staff and well-wishers.

QBRC has taken over the running of a number of businesses that formed part of the Quinn Group before the company's collapse.

Founded by businessmen from the border areas, QBRC is a play on the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC), which is being sued by members of the Quinn family for its role in the takeover of the Quinn Group.
