Those who lost their lives to suicide were commemorated in ceremonies across the country today, attended by thousands of people.
Seven ceremonies of remembrance were organised by suicide prevention and bereavement charity Console.
Over 1,000 people attended the ceremony at St Patrick's College in Maynooth which included the lighting of candles to remember those who have passed away and a minute's silence.
Identical ceremonies of song, music, poetry and reflection also took place in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Wexford, Tipperary and Mayo.
Over 475 people lost their lives to suicide in Ireland last year; Console estimates the real figure is higher.
