The cost of water charges per household are set to be revealed in the Dáil next Wednesday evening.

The Dáil will discuss a motion setting out the charges over a two-day period.

The debate is set to last for over three hours on Wednesday and almost ten hours on Thursday.

TDs will vote on the motion on Thursday night.

Today Enda Kenny said that details on the water charges will offer clarity and certainty to people, in terms of the contribution they would have to make and what they would get.

He said that the Government has listened very carefully to the concerns and anxieties that people have surrounding the charges.

The Taoiseach was speaking at the New York Stock Exchange where he rang the opening bell.

Enda Kenny said that quite a number of issues had been raised regarding the introduction of the charges.

He said he hoped all of the issues would be dealt with comprehensively.
