The remains of Brendan Megraw, one of the Disappeared, were returned to his family today.

They were found in Oristown bog, Co Meath last month.

Mr Megraw, from Twinbrook in Belfast, was looking forward to the birth of his first child and was due to start a new job when he went missing in April 1978, aged 23.

He was one of 17 people abducted, killed and secretly buried by republicans during The Troubles.

Six victims are still to be found.

The coffin carrying Brendan Megraw's remains were carried into his brother Kieran's house in west Belfast this afternoon.

Brendan's funeral will be held in Belfast on Friday.

Kieran Megraw said: "It's just tremendous to feel we now have him back home.

"We always dreamed about it, thought about it, hoped and prayed for it."

Brendan Megraw was found through the efforts of the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains.
