A young Palestinian has been shot dead during clashes with the Israeli army in the southern West Bank.
Imad Jawabreh, 22, died after being hit in the chest by bullets, medics said following the incident.
The incident took place near Kiryat Arba settlement on route 60, the main north-south road.
The Israeli army said troops had opened fire at demonstrators who were stoning cars in the area.
"Around 150 Palestinians gathered on the main road near Hebron hurling rocks and Molotov cocktails at passing vehicles," a spokeswoman said.
She said troops used riot dispersal means to try to break up the disturbances, eventually firing at the protesters' lower bodies, hitting one of them.
The violence comes a day after an Israeli soldier died following an attack by a Palestinian teenager at a Tel Aviv train station.
The soldier was stabbed by a 17-year-old from a West Bank refugee camp who fled the scene before being arrested.
Hours later another Palestinian killed a woman, Dalia Lamkus, and wounded two other people in a knife attack outside a settlement in the southern West Bank.
The Palestinian man was then shot dead by a security guard.
Elsewhere, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has voiced concern about the escalating violence and urged progress toward a two-state solution.
"We need a Palestinian state living in peace and security next to the Israeli state," said Europe's top diplomat in Berlin, after recently visiting Israel and the Palestinian territories.
"And I am particularly sad and worried about the escalation of violence that we are witnessing these hours," she told reporters.
Recent violence had "demonstrated very clearly that if we do not offer political perspective both to the Israelis to live in security and to the Palestinians to have a state, their own state, violence will come back", she said.
"I know that we can work closely together in that direction" in the 28-member EU, she said.
Last week, a Palestinian rammed his car into pedestrians in central Jerusalem, killing two Israelis.
It was the second such incident of its kind in as many weeks. Police shot the driver dead.
