The Taoiseach was greeted by vocal anti-water charge demonstrators on his arrival at a Galway Chamber of Commerce event this afternoon.
Enda Kenny entered the Radisson Hotel through the main entrance, as Gardaí restrained protesters.
Around 100 people gathered to voice their objections to the introduction of water charges.
Many were chanting and holding banners.
A handful of protesters have remained outside the hotel.
The demonstration was organised by the Right2Water campaign.
Earlier the Taoiseach said the details on charges would be finalised next week.
