Up to 200 jobs could be created in Co Wexford following the expansion of a medical devices manufacturer in Enniscorthy.

ClearStream Technologies currently employs 410 people, and has completed a 4,645sqm extension to its existing facility, which will allow it to add up to 200 new positions if needed.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said the expansion was a "huge boost for Wexford and the southeast".

He said the medical device sector is a key one for Ireland and one that has been targeted in the Government's Action Plan for Jobs.

ClearStream was established in 1996 and manufactures minimally invasive medical devices, such as catheters and stents.

Director of Operations Pauline Oakes said the investment is a positive development both for the company and for the southeast region.
