The Irish Council for International Students says it believes thousands of euro was paid by students to Leinster College in the days and weeks coming up to its sudden closure three days ago.

Council representatives accompanied students to a Dublin garda station today to lodge formal complaints.

Leinster College stated on Tuesday it was closing temporarily due to weak financial circumstances but students don't believe it will reopen.

Students and teachers at the language school on Dublin's Harcourt Street learned of its closure until 7 November from a notice posted on the door.
