Met Éireann has issued a yellow weather warning, predicting strong winds and heavy rainfall for most parts of Ireland this evening through to Sunday night.

Rainfall is predicted to reach between 60mm to 90mm along coastal counties and mountainous areas.

Periods of thunder and heavy rainfall are expected tonight, with temperatures ranging between 13 to 15 degrees.

Windy conditions will continue tomorrow through to Sunday, with rainfall becoming more infrequent on Sunday night.

Temperatures will range between 15 to 18 degrees tomorrow, dropping to 13 to 15 degrees on Sunday.

Showery conditions are expected to clear up on the eastern part of the country by Monday, but strong westerly winds will continue.
