Three guitars belonging to the late Irish musician Philip Chevron have been donated to Mountjoy Prison for use by inmates as part of their rehabilitation process.
The guitars were donated as part of the "Jail Guitar Door" project started by musician Billy Bragg.
Bragg and Chevron's sister Deborah Blacoe were at the prison to present the guitars to Mountjoy Governor Brian Murphy.
Ms Blacoe said her brother had used his artistic gifts to the full and said he wanted to donate the guitars to ensure that his work would continue even after his death.
Bragg said prison can be very isolating and prisoners need to know that there is life outside it and that people on the outside are thinking about them.
He said music is an important part of the rehabilitation process.
