About 500 Lexus cars are being recalled in Ireland, as part of a global vehicle recall by Toyota.

The recall involves about 1.7 million cars, mostly in the United States and the Far East.

It was prompted by a concern about a fuel delivery pipe and the possibility of a fuel leak while the car is being driven.

A total of 514 Lexus cars sold in Ireland and manufactured between 2006 and 2010 are being recalled by the company.

They include Lexus IS 250; IS-F; GS 450 H and LS models.

Owners will be contacted by Lexus Ireland to have the remedial work carried out.

A spokesman for Lexus in Ireland said there had been no incidents reported with the cars being recalled.
