Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said in a tweet that the United States had promised $1bn (€775m) in financial guarantees for Kiev to raise funds on the capital markets.
On his visit to the US, Mr Poroshenko secured $53m (€41m) in financial assistance, however, failed to convince the US to provide Ukraine weapons to fight pro-Russian separatists.
In the first half of this year, Ukraine borrowed $1bn on capital markets under a similar US guarantee.
After a visit to Washington Mr Poroshenko tweeted about the agreement.
