A number of limited seats are still available on trains from Tipperary and Kilkenny, a spokesperson for Iarnród Éireann has said.

The company admits that the threatened strike action may have been a factor in availability at this late stage.

Iarnród Éireann estimates that up to 7,000 hurling fans will travel on trains departing from Tipperary and Kilkenny tomorrow, and a further 20,000 fans will use trains on the outer Dublin commuter routes.

Meanwhile; the Kilkenny and Tipperary County Boards last night returned tickets to Croke Park for tomorrow's final after failing to sell their full allocation.
