The motorway service station company Applegreen has said it will create 360 full-time jobs over the next 18 months with the opening of six new service forecourts.
The company said that an additional 250 temporary jobs will be provided in the construction of the new service areas.
The first new forecourt is being opened today at Junction 14 off the M11 in Wicklow.
Others are under construction in Birdhill, Co Tipperary, Swords, Co Dublin, and Lemybrien, Co Waterford.
Applegreen is owned by the multi-national Petrogas Global - an Irish-owned company.
Meanwhile, electronic cigarettes manufacturer Healthier Smoker has said it will create 80 jobs with an expansion of its Irish operations in Waterford.
The company said it is establishing a manufacturing facility at Six Cross Roads in Waterford.
The manufacturing plant will see the immediate creation of 40 manufacturing positions as well as 40 jobs in its retail and distribution arm.
