Up to 300 people have marched in Waterford in protest at Government plans to privatise the city bus service, currently operated by Bus Éireann.

The protest involving drivers, other staff and family members was organised by the National Bus and Rail Union.

The union says up to 35 drivers will be affected by the company plans, which involves a private operator running and operating a city bus service from next year.
