Lorcán Ó Snodaigh, 16, who was missing from his home in Bluebell, Dublin since Saturday has been found safe and well.
He is the son of Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh.
Gardaí earlier issued an appeal to help trace the teenager.
Aengus Ó Snodaigh thanked all those who had helped the family search for Lorcán and asked for privacy "while we deal with the trauma of the last few days".
