The death has taken place of Bernie Guerin, the mother of murdered journalist Veronica Guerin.
Veronica Guerin was killed by criminals in 1996.
Mrs Guerin, who was in her mid-80s, died early this morning in Kerry General Hospital in Tralee.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters.
