Food group Glanbia is to create 90 new jobs in counties Monaghan and Dublin.

The dairy company, which owns the Avonmore and Premier brands, is to build a new UHT facility in Monaghan.

The plant will create long-life dairy products for export to Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The Monaghan facility will employ up to 40 people and is due to be operational early next year.

50 jobs will be created at Glanbia's performance nutrition division, which is establishing its EMEA head office in Dublin.

The company said the announcement comes on the back of "increased collaboration" between Irish and Chinese authorities, including Taoiseach Enda Kenny's recent visit to China.
