Dublin's Beaumont Hospital and St Joseph's in Raheny have a total ban on visitors in place over the weekend as hospital management attempts to prevent the spread of the winter vomiting bug.

The public are also not allowed to visit patients at St Joseph's Hospital in Raheny for the same reason.

Beaumont Hospital is urging all members of the public who have symptoms of the winter vomiting bug - or Norovirus - to seek medical advice from their GP first before attending hospital.
