Visiting restrictions are in place at Beaumont Hospital and St Joseph's Hospital Raheny in Dublin to contain an outbreak of Norovirus.
The public is asked to avoid visits to the hospitals unless it is absolutely necessary.
As part of the restrictions, only one visitor is allowed per patient and children visitors are not allowed.
Visitors should stay away from the hospital if they have had vomiting or diarrhoea within the previous 48 hours.
Essential visiting should take place only between 6pm to 8pm.
