The emergency department at St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown in Dublin is to close from 27 November.

The Health Service Executive has confirmed that emergency services will transfer to the nearby St Vincent's University Hospital.

Under the changes, St Columcille's will operate a local injuries unit and a medical assessment unit from 8am to 6pm, seven days a week.

The changes come into effect from 8am on 27 November.
