One of the last remaining residents of the Ballymun towers in Dublin has said she is heartbroken at moving out.

Theresa Freeman, who has lived for 20 years on the top floor of the 15-storey Joseph Plunkett tower, is moving to a nearby bungalow.

It is one of 5,000 new homes to have been built in the area since a regeneration project began in 1997.

Another five tenants remain in the Plunkett block, which is the last remaining tower of the seven built in Ballymun in the 1960s.

Those families are expected to be relocated in the coming weeks, with the tower due to be demolished next year.

Ms Freeman describes her life in the infamous flats as "comfortable and secure", adding that she was "very sad to leave, I've so many memories here".
