A search for a fisherman who was washed into the sea off Co Clare yesterday has been called off due to adverse weather conditions.
Doolin coast guard will resume the search tomorrow morning.
The 42-year-old Latvian national had been fishing with friends off the rocks at Ballyreen near Fanore at around 5.30pm.
He was angling from the rocks with friends when he was apparently struck by a wave.
One of the man's friends raised the alarm, while another companion jumped into the sea to try to save his friend, but he was unsuccessful.
He was treated at the scene for the effects of cold.
