Hundreds of dentists around the country are providing free examinations for Mouth Cancer Awareness Day.
About 300 cases of mouth cancer are diagnosed every year in Ireland, with around 100 people dying from the disease.
Over the past three years, 18,000 people have been given free examinations as part of awareness days and 21 cases of mouth cancer have been diagnosed.
The Irish Dental Association is urging people to take advantage of the offer of a free examination.
