More than 200 people took part in a march in Dublin this afternoon to mark the first anniversary of the death of the Real IRA member, Alan Ryan.

Hundreds of gardaí were on duty during the march from Alan Ryan's home in Donaghmede to his grave at Fingal cemetery in Balgriffin.

At the time of his burial, shots were fired over his coffin near his home.

Gardaí were determined there would be no repeat of the incident.

Several garda units, including the air support unit and mounted unit, were involved in monitoring today's march.
