Three Irish authors are on the 2013 Man Booker Prize longlist.
They are Donal Ryan for The Spinning Heart; Colum McCann for TransAtlantic and Colm Tóibín for The Testament of Mary.
There are a total of 13 books on the longlist. A shortlist will be published in September and the winner will be named in October.
Mr Tóibín has been shortlisted twice before for The Blackwater Lightship in 1999 and in 2004 with The Master.
