The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is urging people to make a special effort to give blood over the coming weeks following a drop in donations during the good weather.
The IBTS says it has only four days of supply remaining in the main blood groups after a 10% drop in donations.
The service is warning that if the trend continues it will significantly impact on available supplies.
The IBTS is asking donors to make a special effort to give blood in the lead-up to the bank holiday weekend and in the weeks following.
