A meeting is to take place between the Health Service Executive and a medical general practitioner in Co Galway over a dispute over broadband services which led to him stopping the provision of services in two health centres in the county.

The doctor in question had been treating patients at clinics in Cornamona and Leenane.

Last month he informed the HSE that he would stop providing GP services at both locations because there was no broadband access at either centre.

The HSE says it has been examining the issue in recent days.

The GP has agreed to restore the clinics pending the outcome of further discussions.

He will meet with HSE representatives next week.
