The Smithwick Tribunal has said it will not comment on the outcome of this afternoon's hearing regarding co-operation from a retired detective garda sergeant.
Earlier Owen Corrigan, who is one of the key witnesses before the tribunal, said he had changed his mind and would not be giving the tribunal access to some of his financial affairs.
Counsel for the tribunal, Justin Dillon, raised the possibility of seeking a High Court order to force Mr Corrigan to comply or face contempt of court.
This afternoon the tribunal went into private session to discuss the issue.
After the discussions concluded, Judge Smithwick said that any order, if made, was done as part of the tribunal's private investigation.
As such, they would be making no comment on the outcome of the discussions.
