Tanáiste Eamon Gilmore has said he is confident €150 million of EU funding for Northern Ireland and the border counties will be in place before Ireland's EU presidency ends in June.
He was speaking after talks with the North’s First Minister Peter Robinson, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Secretary of State Theresa Villiers
EU funding to support peace-building in Northern Ireland and the border counties dates back to the 1990s when Jacques Delors was President of the European Commission.
According to Mr Gilmore, there were no plans for a fourth such programme in the EU's draft budget.
But he said it became a priority for the Government during its EU presidency.
