Hospital management says all nursing staff will be paid their appropriate allowances

Nursing staff at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick who are due shift and overtime payments will receive those payments today, nurses representatives have confirmed.

The HSE has acknowledged that a clerical staff shortage in the payroll system had led to a small number of problems with staff payments.

However, the hospital management said this morning the problem has been resolved and all staff will receive their due payments.

They were reacting to a media report that up to 400 nursing staff at the hospital would be short those payments today because three staff are absent from the payroll office, and could not be replaced, as any available staff with those skills were working in front line services like clinics.

INMO representative Mary Fogarty said they received assurances from hospital management that all nursing staff will be paid their appropriate allowances today and if there are any shortages, manual payments will be made.
