Dublin City Council has said the decision to restrict water supply will be reviewed on Tuesday morning.

City Engineer Michael Philips said the council hopes to save a large amount of water over the long weekend.

The restrictions were enforced because of increased leakage and a shortage of treated water at the reservoir in Roundwood, Co Wicklow.

The restrictions will result in lower pressures and possible loss of supply in some cases.

They apply across the city from 10pm until 7am or 9am the following morning.
