Support for the Government parties remains stable, according to the latest Sunday Business Post/Red C tracking poll.

However, the poll also shows that a large majority of people believe the Local Property Tax is unfair.

The poll was taken between Monday and Wednesday, with over 1,000 voters surveyed nationwide.

It shows relative stability in the political landscape across Government and Opposition groups.

Fine Gael remains unchanged at 28%, while Labour gains one point to 13%.

Fianna Fáil is down two points to 24%, with Sinn Féin also down two points to 14%.

Independents and other parties are up three points to 21%.

However, there is a grim message for the Government in the public attitudes towards the property tax.

More than two thirds of people (67%) believe the tax is unfair, while 59% say they are less likely to support the Government parties as a result of the tax.
