The Government has released the list of legislation it expects to publish between now and Easter.

The list includes Bills to establish the Child and Family Support Agency, merge the Human Rights Commission and the Equality Commission, and abolish FÁS and replace it with a new body, SOLAS.

Also on the Government's spring legislative programme are the Finance Bill, which will implement decisions announced in the Budget, new Freedom of Information legislation and measures to reform bodies dealing with industrial relations.

Proposed legislation on abortion is not on the list, but Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe said in a statement that the Department of Health and the Attorney General's Office will give the matter priority once they receive the report of the Oireachtas Health Committee on its recent hearings on abortion.
