The 60ft inflated snowman that went missing from the roof of a building in Wicklow Town last week has been recovered.
It was discovered this morning following an anonymous telephone call to gardaí.
The snowman was found deflated with a sign saying "I'm sorry" attached to it.
The snowman is now back in place on the roof.
A spokesperson for Wicklow Chamber of Commerce said it was delighted that the decoration was recovered.
It was not damaged when it was found this morning.
The snowman was erected on top of the flat roof of a shop unit on 25 November as part of celebrations, which involved the switching on of the town's Christmas lights.
However, it went missing the following day.
The local Chamber of Commerce, whose members had invested heavily in decorating the town for Christmas, appealed for the snowman's return.
