Five men have been before the District Court at Midleton in Co Cork, charged in connection with the discovery of a cannabis growhouse at Rathcormac on Monday.
800 plants with a potential estimated street value of €640,000 were seized.
The five are among more than 100 people arrested throughout the country over the past three days during which drugs with an estimated street value of €3.5m were seized.
The five men were charged with possession and possession for sale or supply and cultivation of cannabis plants, following the discovery by gardaí of a cannabis grow house at Rathcormac in North Cork.
The five were named in court as Yantuan Zheng, Jian Zhong Yu, Xinyu He, Ming Feng Chen and Liang Lu Wang.
The court was told that their identities and addresses are still being verified by gardaí.
All five are Chinese nationals aged in their 20s and 30s. They were remanded in custody for a week.
Separate garda investigations under Operation Wireless II are continuing, and further court appearances are expected in the coming days.
